The software lies within System Utilities, more precisely Device Assistants. It is an integrated interface from which you can assess live view, assign recording to NAS servers, enable recording, play back videos and view storage space without visiting each hosts Web interface.
Geovision Remote Viewer Software Lies WithinThe most popular version of this product among our users is 6.1. The names of program executable files are MultiCam Remote View System.exe, RemoteView.exe. The product will soon be reviewed by our informers. You can check Remote Desktop Manager, BIM Vision, CardFive Vision and other related programs like RemoteView at the download section. You may use whichever suits your preference Choose GV-Remote ViewLog (V16.11.3.0) for the classic looking interface of GV-Remote ViewLog (GV-DVRNVR interface). This version support dragging and dropping exported AVI files into the viewlog for playback. Choose GV-Remote ViewLog V2 (V17.x) for the new GV-Remote ViewLog V2 interface (GV-VMS interface) which allows for customizing the layouts and order of cameras in the viewlog. ![]() That would probably help our Remote Desktop connection considerably. Whenever a user pulls up the web interface they see an error window titled OCXDOW1 that reads Internet Explorer is under protected mode. If you click OK it pops up once more, and the page works fine until you click a link, then it starts the cycle over. That does indeed correct the problem, but that aint happening. Also if the NVRs are Win8 or 2012- and the client machine has the latest RDC client- the new RDP-over-UDP is noticeably more responsive with on-screen video compared to TCP. If you are running v8.5.8 I would look at upgrading to v8.5.9 which has proven to be solid.(8.5.8 was buggy, 8.5.7 was OK, 8.5.6 had some issues with WebCam server crashing, 8.5.5 was OK.). But after the initial activex install, no more UAC or any other prompts, just log in to cam and the image loads. So I dont have a way to try it out on a setup like yours.:( Out of curiosity, have you pulled up UAC to verify its on, or are you assuming its on since you didnt manually turn it I see that the geovision active x controller is what turns UAC off, and reading on the geovision forums its just crap software and they really have no plans to correct it. There is a chorme plugin available and it allows the system to work with UAC enabled, so for our camera users I installed chrome and renamed it to Cameras. I agree its a load of crap GV expects you to compromise the security of your OS in order to use their software. Ive been emailing them for the last 2yrs(every time a new version is released) to patch DMMultiview and Remote ViewLog so they will run without making the user a local admin and disabling UAC.they keep promising its on the roadmap, but its obviously not a priority for them unfortunately. Geovision Remote Viewer Tv And TheyGV.I have a client in the Building Supply industry and they have many software packages from cabinetdoormillworketc manufacturers that require local adminno UAC, also Ive worked with Pelco and Genetec in the past for cctv and they also have these type of issues.). I then create a Cams user account which has local admin privileges and tell people it can only be used for the camera software. Besides that- most users dont even realize they could use the account to do other things.they were told its for the cams, so its only used for the cams. I wish I could figure out a way to get it going on 7 in IE 9 or 10 though. Like I said before we have to be on 7 with IE 910 to remain compliant with our partners. The rep stated that it was unusual, and they they had never seen issues like that before, but we gave him 4 computers (one was new in box never touched by us) and it crashed on every machine. The chrome fix is working pretty good so far so I think thats where we will be for the next few years. From memory, it seems like they were low-end AMD-based(Best Buy special.) or machines with oddball integrated graphics chipsets(certain olderall-in-onesmall-form-factor PCs). Geovision Remote Viewer Driver On TheYou could try updating the graphics driver on the machine or playing with the DirectDraw settings in the DMMultiview software. ![]() Of course this depends on your encoder settings configured in the cams, for example if you have all the cams set up for 30 frames per second and 40mbps bitrate then you will fill up the pipe(and your hard drives) much faster You can check the network utilization via PerfMon or Resource Monitor. The process remains running, and uses CPU, its like the GUI just switches to invisible mode.
